Course Organization Ideas
Dec 31, 2019Over the past few weeks, we have been focusing on orienting students to your online course. It makes sense that the next thing we should focus on is Course Organization. We want to make our course easy for students to navigate. The best way to do this is to have a set structure to each Module... at least every Module that has learning content in it.
In my online course, I use the following format to organize the beginning of each Module:
- Picture
- Title
- Learning Objectives
- Activities and due dates
After this heading, the other parts of the Module follow the following format:
- Activity title
- Activity overview/description
- Readings
- Activity instructions
- Activity Rubric
Providing this model and organization to each Module makes it easier for students to understand and follow along throughout the course.
