Ed Tech Tuesday: Gather

In today's blog post, I'll be highlighting an Ed Tech Tool called Gather. This is a fun, interactive tool that allows you to build virtual spaces to make virtual interactions more human. This is such a fun tool that can be used in many different ways. I'll feature some in today's blog post.

Gather is a really neat tool that allows you to build virtual spaces for people to virtually interact in. This is becoming more and more needed as our world becomes more digital and we find ourselves interacting with people online more often. This tool can be used in many different ways, such as:

- To build a virtual classroom space

- To create a virtual office

- To host a virtual meeting

- To build a virtual community for any interest or topic

Some of the strengths of Gather is that it helps to build a genuine sense of presence, which we know is an important factor in online education. Also, the spaces are easily customizable and you can use any image you want as the background. This is a great way to make your space more personal and inviting. Gather also allows you to do a variety of things such as play games, have meetings, collaborate with others or simply just hang out.

I think this tool is great for educators because it provides a way to build community virtually and create spaces for collaboration, which can be difficult to do online. This is also a great tool for students as it gives them a place to virtually meet up with classmates outside of class time. I think this can be a great alternative to a "Water Cooler" or "Student Cafe" Discussion Board and I would be interested to hear if others have used this tool before and in what capacity.
