Ed Tech Tuesday: H5P

Today I'm excited to chat about a fun and versatile tool I can't wait to use in my own online course called H5P. I'll tell you all about the tool and some of the most exciting features it has to offer in today's blog post.

H5P is a versatile tool that can be used in many different ways. Some of the most exciting features it has to offer are its ability to create interactive content, its wide range of templates, and its easy-to-use interface. Here are some of it's most highlighted features:

Interactive video

H5P allows you to easily create videos enriched with interactions. This includes embedding multiple choice and fill in the blank questions, pop-up text and other types of interactions. This is excellent for making your content more engaging and interactive.

Course Presentation

H5P allows you to create a presentation with interactive slides. It allows you to add multiple choice questions, fill in the blanks, text, and other types of interactions which makes it great for creating an engaging presentation.

Branching Scenario

H5P allows you to create dilemmas and self paced learning through branching scenarios and other types of adaptive learning. One of the most exciting features about H5P is its ability to develop virtual simulation scenarios through the branching scenario feature! This really excites me because I believe this is a great teaching strategy for nursing students. Most virtual simulation software is very expensive, so the fact that H5P is free and open source is incredible.

By FAR, one of the things I love most about H5P is that YOU DON'T HAVE TO START FROM SCRATCH! H5P provides a wide range of templates that you can use to get you started on your projects! (In case you don't know, I'm a BIG fan of templates!). In addition to that, there is also a huge library of examples from other educators who have created content using H5P that you can explore to get ideas on how to use the tool.

H5P is also very user-friendly and easy to use. I love how simple and straightforward the interface is. Even if you're not a tech-savvy person, you'll be able to figure out how to use this tool with ease.

The possibilities are endless with what you can create using H5P. I'm looking forward to using it in my own online course and seeing how my students interact with the content.
