Ed Tech Tuesday: Mentimeter
Jun 29, 2021For this month's Ed Tech Tuesday, I'll be highlighting a tool called Mentimeter that I've started using this semester. This is a pretty fun tool that is great for live synchronous courses that you may be teaching online. Check out today's blog to learn more about this interesting tool.
Mentimeter is a presentation tool that allows you to create and deliver interactive presentations. Mentimeter allows you to add interactive question types, create word clouds and quizzes through your presentations. The software also lets you select from different presentation themes and various stock photos. One of the best features is the ability to collect anonymous responses from participants. The ability to collect responses through the tool has the potential to garner even more engagement than face-to-face presentations because of the anonymity. Additionally, it ensures that the whole class is participating, rather than a select few that you might be able to call on. I often tell my students that we won't move forward until I can see that all students have participated in the polling. This typically results in a lot of engagement.
The Mentimeter website has a lot of resources that can be used to help you become familiar with the tool such as a blog, webinars and templates. If you've never used it before, be sure to check it out today!
Are you already familiar with Mentimeter? I'd love to hear about your experiences in The Online Educator Facebook Group.
