Ed Tech Tuesday: Pixton
Nov 15, 2022Today's Ed Tech Tool is called Pixton. This is a tool I was introduced to last Summer after I completed a professional development course. I thought it was such a nice tool and thought it would work really well in an online course. I'll tell you all about this tool in todays blog post.
Pixton is an online tool that allows you to create an avatar, themed class pictures, and create comics fun comics.
I was introduced to this tool after completing a professional development course in the Summer. The instructor had us each make an avatar which she put together for a class photo! It was so fun and a great memory maker!
The Pixton site also shares some really great Ideas for how educators can use comics and avatars in their classroom. For instance, there is "A Day In My Life" comic where students can create a comic taking the reader through a typical day in their life. They can be used to represent a character in a book that students are reading or to introduce themselves to share information, create projects, or simply engage students.
You can create a comic by choosing from a variety of templates, or you can start from scratch and create your own. Once you have chosen your template, you can add text, images, and even videos to your comic. You can also change the font, size, and color of your text.
I'd LOVE to hear your ideas on how you might be able to use this tool in your own online course. Share them in The Online Educator Facebook Group!
