🧐 Radical Online Resource- Virtual Escape Rooms

Virtual escape rooms became popular in education during the pandemic and nursing education has been no different. In today's blog post, I'll highlight some resources that have many virtual escape room activities available.

Today's resource is is focused on virtual escape rooms and there are several resources to create, buy, and learn more about them.

• VirtualEscapeRooms.org and it offers a variety of online escape rooms activities. Although these are activities designed for K-12 students, they can be a great source of inspiration for online nurse educators.
• Another great resource for virtual escape rooms is Ditch That Textbook. This is a K-12 resource that includes courses, and even instructional guides for learning more about virtual escape rooms.

There are even some great nursing resources for escape room ideas.

• BreakoutRN has a free Escapee Room Workshop to learn to create 7 interactive "locks" using Google Forms to transform the way lecture is done in your course.
• The University of Kansas Health System has a great Escape Room Guide that includes step-by-step instructions and example puzzles to create virtual escape rooms.
• Simply do a search for Escape Room in the Teachers Transforming Nursing Education Facebook group and you'll get TONS of sample escape rooms that nurse educators have shared! Here's a link to a few of them!
